FRONTIER STEAK HOUSE, Inc.
Est. 1960

The Frontier Café, as it was called in 1960, was purchased by Dutch and Mary Laffoon. The cafe had four tables and counter seating for customers. Connected to the cafe was the bar where the locals came for their drinks. It was a typical old time Roadhouse drinking establishment. Dutch talked Mary into cooking at the restaurant, and she’s been there ever since!

The “Phillips 66” gas station was located next to the cafe, and could be considered the “Quick Trip” of the times. One big difference however, the station was full service. An attendant pumped the gas for you, checked the oil and tires, cleaned the windshield, and came right to your window and collected the money. With the expansion of the restaurant, the gas station was one of the first structures to be replaced by an addition to the cafe.

The Laffoon home was located to the east of the station. The cabins were north ofthe station and east of the house. The original location of the house was near where the lobby’s sits today.

The only structure remaining is the cafe. It is now part of the dining room at the west end of the building near the corner of 94th and State Ave. As popularity grew the café was added onto thourghout the years, and early on became known as the “Frontier Steak House”.

We are still a family owned business, and will continue to offer quality food and service. We hope visiting us will be like a trip home to Mom's for a great home cook meal.

Thank you for your patronage!
